a magical family musical
8 to 10 December 2004
The Victoria Theatre
In celebration of the centenary of the first ever stage production of J M Barrie’s classic tale of the ‘boy who wouldn’t grow up’, The Stage Club is proud to present Peter Pan. Adapted by locally based writer/director Denise Marsh, the show features all the familiar characters: the heroine, Wendy, and the rest of the Darling family; the mischievous fairy, Tinker Bell; the villainous pirate, Captain Hook, and his smarmy sidekick, Smee; and, of course, the animal stars: Nana the dog and Tic-Toc the crocodile.
Breathtaking sets, dazzling costumes and spectacular special effects make this one of the Stage Club’s most ambitious productions yet, and with an international cast of more than 80 kids and supporting adults, this will be one of the biggest shows ‘for kids, by kids’ ever staged in Singapore. Children of all ages will be spellbound as heroes and villains fly through the air and whirl across the stage in a riot of colour, music and dance.
In keeping with the charitable traditions associated with Peter Pan, The Stage Club will be holding a Charity Night on 9 December 2004 to raise funds for The Singapore Children’s Society. In addition, more than 20 theatre and technical professionals are donating their time and expertise free of charge for the benefit of the kids participating and in support of the charity, to ensure that this will truly be a show to remember.
So join us for a magical evening in Neverland – and help us to bring a little seasonal joy into the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
