THE CANTERBURY TALES

Under the sardonic eye of Chaucer himself, a group of pilgrims each recount a tale to entertain their companions. In turns comic, bawdy and sublime, these great, theatrical tales and their tellers are a vivid testimony to Chaucer’s insight into human nature. Set in a Tavern, the ensemble cast act out the Tales using everything and everyone to assist them.

This is the third time we have produced the Canterbury Tales and we hope to repeat the success of the first two with another sell out run. Set in medieval times, the show keeps to the spirit of Chaucer’s bawdy moral fables, adding music and an element of contemporary comedy to the classic stories. The large cast includes some talented new comers as well as experienced SC performers.
